Youth Leadership Camp
Camp sessions will enhance students’ ability assess real-life situations and learn to make positive choices. Sessions include discussions on:
¨ Healthy Relationships
¨ Tips for Teens (Law Enforcement)
¨ Student Rights
¨ Physical Health
¨ Mental Health
¨ Self-Image
¨ Self-Determination
¨ Social Networking
¨ Self-Discipline
¨ Financial Management
Camp presenters are professionals in their respective fields. Participants are encouraged to ask questions or share any related issues they may have during these sessions.
“Transforming Through the Arts”
Camp participants will have an opportunity to enhance their leadership skills through the arts. There are many people that have hidden talents and this will give participants an opportunity to showcase theirs. Participants will also be exposed to forms of art that they may be
unfamiliar with. The camp will focus on:
· Dance
· Music
· Art Design
· Videography
· Cooking
· Sports & Recreation
The Leadership Camp will conclude with a final performance from the participants.
“The Real World” Tour
Camp participants will take part in a financial literacy workshop provided through Mississippi State University in partnership with BankPlus where they will be given real life examples of professional salaries. They will have to budget and make financial decisions based on their projected family income.
Registration
Camp Registration is FREE. Camp registration will be on a first come, first served basis. Space is limited to 75 participants.
